Welcome Back to School!

Hello and Happy New Year!

I am absolutely thrilled to return to the 2015-2016 school year. We have had a great learning summer and hope that your summer was filled with lots of family time. This summer teachers worked to develop plans and strategies to push our boys and girls to the next level of achievement. With the leadership and support of our new Superintendent, Dr. R. Stephen Green, a renewed sense of purpose, new Stoneview Elementary family members and our parents’ support, the Stoneview Falcons will be focused, fierce and virtually unstoppable. As we soar to meet and exceed the challenging targets set for our school, I ask that you support us as we work together. Take a look at the items below to get our new year started!

  • School opens at 7:00 a.m. and starts promptly at 7:45 a.m.
  • Car-riders are dismissed at 2:30 p.m. Buses Must be released before car-riders.
  • Be on the lookout for student agendas. We use this tool as a means to keep the connection with you.
  • Watch your child’s progress through our DeKalb County School District’s Parent Portal. You must come to the school to get your secure code. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see your children’s grades from home or from your phone’s app.
  • Our B.E.E. program, Be Early Everyday, celebrates those children & classrooms where students arrive on time each day of the month.
  • Uniforms are required and are to be worn daily. Look for special announcements or calling posts for special days without the uniform.
  • Attend our Curriculum Night, September 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
  • As a Title I school that receives Federal dollars, we need your input on the School wide plan. Your input will be used to create our plan. Here are some of our planning dates and times for your input:
        • August 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.—Parent Resource Center
        • September 15, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.---Parent Resource Center
        • October 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.—Stoneview Cafeteria
  • Welcome our new staff Falcons! These new staff Falcons have pledged to soar with our veteran Stoneview teachers and make this year the best ever!

There is no power greater than the power of an involved parent. There is no mountain too high for us to climb together. Count on us and we will count on you!

Ready to Soar,

Ledra Jemison
